Perfect for Homeschool Groups, Learning Pods,
or those that want to learn
more about farming.

Come learn about the land
We offer a 7-week program for kids; parents are welcome to join too.
Visit the farm once a month from April to October to get your hands in the dirt.
Each visit would involve time working on a personal garden plot, a craft or activity, as well as a small lunch.
Garden Plot: Each homeschool group or learning pod would get a small section of garden. In April, learn about preparing the soil for planting.
May, seeds are planted; could be greens, pumpkins, tomatoes, flowers... whatever your group decides! June through to October it would be
tending and harvesting your veggies. October would also cover prepping the beds for winter. All great skills that can be used in any place.
We would provide everything that is needed for the gardens: seeds, seedlings, compost, garden stakes, etc.
The food produced goes to each group. If things are ready to harvest before the next scheduled visit,
we would harvest and store it for the group.
Crafts and Study Activities: Crafts will be things like making your own painted wooden placemat for picnic lunches,
beaver-dam stick windchimes, making moss planters, etc. Activities will be things like learning how to identify plants and birds, farm tours,
farm obstacle courses, or scavenger hunts. All of this can be mostly child-directed and adjusted depending on desires of each group.
Study events can be things like compost experiments, cow patty experiments (watch the progress of a cow patty over the season),
animal & farm safety, how cows are milked, why it's important for farms to work with and not against nature, etc.
Farm tours: These can take place almost every week. We can walk to the fields to see how plants change over the season, observe the
changes in the wild animal populations, and observe how the weather affects the land.
Small lunch: Each person attending would have the option of a small lunch made with food from the farm.
Cost per week: $25 per person, (regardless of age), with lunch, add $10.
Dates: Summer Sessions are full for the 2022 season. Please contact us at info@funnyduckfarms.com if you have questions.
